Here’s the big news: U.S. Representative Waltz is stepping down on January 20, 2025, the day President-elect Trump takes office, to become the national security adviser for Trump’s second term

For us this means a Special Election has been called for Congressional District 6. This is a partisan race with two key dates:

• Special Primary Election: January 28, 2025
• Special General Election: April 1, 2025 (and no, that’s not an April Fools’ joke!)

For us here in Flagler County, these are countywide elections. Congressional District 6 covers all of Flagler and parts of St. Johns, Putnam, Marion, Lake, and Volusia Counties.

But that’s not all—we’ve also got the regularly scheduled municipal elections coming up on March 4, 2025, for the City of Bunnell, City of Flagler Beach, and Town of Beverly Beach.

With so many opportunities to vote, now is the time to think about how you’ll cast your ballot to make a differance in our community and state.

Did you know? If you’re planning to vote by mail, all Vote-By-Mail ballot requests in Florida expired after the General Election on November 5, 2024. That means you’ll need to renew your request. Don’t wait—your renewed request will be valid through December 31, 2026.

Important deadlines:

• Request a ballot by January 16, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
• Return your completed ballot by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
