School District Earns National Award for Its Commitment to Student-Athlete Safety

PALM COAST, Fla., March 26, 2025 – Safety is a top priority at Flagler Schools, and its dedication to protecting student-athletes has earned national recognition. The district received the Safe Sports School Award from the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, an honor that highlights its proactive approach to student health and injury prevention. Flagler Palm Coast High School (FPC) and Matanzas High School (MHS) applied individually, and in conjunction with the athletic trainers, to meet a certain set of criteria to receive the award.

Friends of Gamble Rogers State Park (FROGRS) was selected as one of 170 organizations to receive a 2024 Two For The Trails grant from Athletic Brewing Company. This global program, inspired by Athletic Co-Founder and CEO Bill Shufelt’s tradition of toasting trail adventures with two brews, contributes up to $2 million annually to the protection and restoration of outdoor spaces.

For the fourth consecutive year, The Thrifty Place is excited to host its Annual Holiday Toy Giveaway, a heartwarming event funded by their generosity and the kindness of community toy donations.
